Back Story

A friend, who we shall call Shelly, campaigned tirelessly for free public libraries.  Her work (and the ornery piece of glass that I bought) became the inspiration for this piece.

Technical Details:

Media:  Mixed media (stained glass, wood, plastic, plexiglas)

Size:  112 cm high by 18 cm wide

Mounting:  Wall, with a single attachment

Light Source:  Single Light Emitting Diode (LED) powered by a single 1.5 volt AA cell using a Joule Thief circuit.

ILLUMINATION:  When the LED is not illuminated, Shelly becomes invisible, possibly a comment on both our problems and our lives.

To The Library
Shelly scrabbles over Copper Hill to return some soon-to-be overdue books to the Centre City Free Public Library.
